About me
Maria A. Pallante leads AAP’s strategic agenda and public policy portfolio, working with her talented team to advance and protect the laws that incentivize and protect creative and intellectual authorship. From 2011 to 2016, she served as Register of Copyrights and Director of the U.S. Copyright Office. Earlier in her career, she was both a lawyer and executive with the global Guggenheim Museums in New York, as well as in private practice. She has delivered and published numerous distinguished legal lectures and serves on several boards and advisory committees for the creative sectors. She teaches copyright at George Washington University Law School.
