Mary Jo (“MJ”) Courchesne is the owner and principal consultant of Gryphon Publishing Consulting. She joined IBPA's Board of Directors in July of 2024, and also serves as board liason to the Legislation & Standards Committee. A publishing veteran with over 25 years of experience in trade, academic, and direct-to-consumer publishing, she specializes in copyright, licensing, subsidiary rights, and permissions. MJ is a polished presenter at conferences and meetings, and has educated future publishing professionals in the George Washington University’s Masters in Publishing program for 16 years. Her other professional memberships include the Rights Committee of the Book Industry Study Group, the Copyright Alliance, and the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators.
